In all, there are 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children. They are dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals. Children up to age 18 are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children if there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Acceptance is based solely on a child's medical needs. All care and services are provided regardless of the families' ability to pay.

Request an appointment.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is here to help. We've made referring a patient or obtaining an appointment for your child very easy.

Our health care system offers care for a wide range of pediatric specialties. See our
care page to learn more about these specialties. The locations section below indicates what care specialties each of our 22 locations provide. Once you determine which location will best serve your needs, simply call the appropriate intake number to request an appointment. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need. If an intake representative is not immediately available, please leave your name and contact information and an intake representative will contact you within two business days. Please note that while Shriners Hospitals for Children does not require a physician referral, some insurers may require them or have additional requirements for certain medical care. Please also be aware that while referrals and assistance from Shriners are welcome and greatly appreciated, it is not necessary to have a connection with a fraternity member to receive care – all decisions are based on the child’s medical need and our ability to provide effective assistance.

Shriners Hospitals for Children is different from other pediatric hospitals in that it is the only pediatric multi-hospital system in the United States that provides all care and services regardless of the families' ability to pay. Shriners Hospitals for Children is also one of the largest pediatric sub-specialty hospital systems in the world, with the largest full-time staff of pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the U.S.

In the past 20 years, more than 9,500 physicians have received residency education or postgraduate fellowships at Shriners Hospitals for Children. The health care system also maintains relationships with more than 60 medical teaching facilities.

Here is information on all of the Shrine Hospitals in the US and Canada. The ones near the top are the ones serviced most frequently by the Bluefield Shrine Club through Beni Kedem Temple.  Bluefield Shrine Club typically uses Lexington, KY,  Cincinnati, OH, Philadelphia, and Greenville. Bluefield Shrine Club has helped provide transportation and hotel stay when necessary at no cost for the patient and legal guardian parent(s). We have helped many patients since our club was formed.
